At Sólheimajökull an easy path leads you to the edge of the glacier, where blue ice and black ash layers meet. Then the coast opens up: the sea arch and cliffs of Dyrhólaey, the basalt columns and roaring waves of Reynisfjara, and the little village of Vík beneath its green hills.
